Bill Spurgeon joined Akoya in 2025 to lead Akoya’s Fluid Handling sector, bringing more than three decades of executive leadership in industrial manufacturing, pumps, valves, filtration, and fluid-handling technologies. A proven operator and growth leader, Bill has built and scaled global platforms through strategic acquisitions, operational excellence, and disciplined commercial execution.
Before joining Akoya, Bill served as President and CEO of Dover Corporation’s Fluids Segment, a $2.9B division serving global pump, fluid handling, compressor, and vehicle wash markets. Over a 26-year career with Dover, he also led the Engineered Systems, Energy, Fluid Management, and Diversified segments—successfully delivering both turnarounds and sustained growth. He completed 37 acquisitions during his tenure, expanding into new geographies and end markets while significantly improving profitability and operational performance.
Bill’s track record includes building high-performing leadership teams, launching new growth platforms, and leading major operational initiatives—such as creating a Shared Services organization that drove enterprise-wide savings and implementing a global Operational Excellence program that delivered substantial productivity and safety gains. His strategic vision and steady leadership guided Dover businesses through market cycles, including successfully navigating the 2009 oil & gas downturn while protecting margins.
Since 2020, Bill has served on the boards of multiple portfolio companies for Edgewater Capital, mentoring presidents, developing strategy, and driving operational improvement. His combination of sector expertise, disciplined growth execution, and collaborative leadership aligns with Akoya’s founder-focused investment model.
Bill earned his MBA from the University of Tennessee and a Bachelor of Science from the United States Military Academy at West Point. He is a former U.S. Army helicopter pilot and an active board member for Project Hero and Telos Classical Christian Academy in Park City, UT.
