K’Lynne joined Akoya Capital in 2016 to help build the Specialty Chemicals Sector. K’Lynne is the former Executive Chair & Founding CEO, Elevance Renewable Sciences.
K’Lynne has more than 25 years of chemical industry experience working within the oil and petrochemicals industry for Amoco, BP and Innovene, and most recently as the founding CEO and President of Elevance. Under K’Lynne’s leadership, Elevance boasts many achievements, including the Elevance-Wilmar International Limited joint venture that has built and is supplying Elevance’s customers with products from a world-scale, 180,000 MT biorefinery in Gresik, Indonesia, a partnership with Versalis, a biorefinery collaboration with Genting Plantations Berhad, and the commercialization of multiple products globally.
She also helped establish collaborations with leading chemical industry players, including Stepan Company and Arkema; and was instrumental in helping the company earn several honors, including being named an EPA Presidential Green Challenge Award winner, Bloomberg/New Energy Pioneer Award winner and one of Crain’s Chicago Business’ Top 25 Most Innovative Companies; among other company milestones.
She has worked in a variety of roles covering general business management, supply chain optimization, HR management, strategy, and organizational design and effectiveness. Prior to her role as CEO and president of Elevance, K’Lynne was senior vice president of the Global Derivatives operating company within BP Innovene, one of the world's largest global petrochemical and refining companies. K’Lynne’s SVP role included profit and loss accountability for multiple global specialty and commodity chemicals businesses with revenues of over $3 billion and 1,100 employees across North America, Europe and Asia. K’Lynne has a master’s degree in organizational behavior from Brigham Young University's Marriott School of Management and a B.S. in organizational psychology.
K’Lynne was also a Co-Founder and Owner of BeauLily LLC. A company founded in 2006 and sold in 2014 which provided therapeutic hand products that enabled comfort, warmth and activity to promote increased hand flexibility and brain stimulation through its TwiddleMuff product line.
She currently serves on several boards, including FMC Corporation; Sylvatex, Inc, Morton Arboretum; and was formerly a Director for the TPC Group, Inc. K'Lynne was inducted into the Chicago Area Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame in 2014.
